John, I'm sure WCOM would be using that argument; with the RBOCs entering the LD market, a WCOM+FON won't be much of a threat. On the other hand, I wish that WCOM buys a wireless pure play instead (buying Airtouch, for example, 2 years ago, or even Nextel). The MCI acquisition wasn't that great for WCOM or MCI; they had to sell off MCI's internet backbone to BT, the plus was getting MCI's corporate customers, trimming the fat etc.

Better announce the deal next Monday and get it all over with. Perhaps a few more points' downside?
