You arent very informed , Shorts dont cause the price to go down,,no short forced UPCA to claim that they had a cure for aids or for Delgratia mining to falsify their gold mine assays , or for the RCMOP to surround the building and seize their computers. These stocks go down because they are run like moronic stooge factories, and the try to decieve the investor for as long as they can . Shorts just catch them in the act. Longs just dont want to hear the negative and since most dont understand what shorting is all about they are afraid of them.
