Hi Tom and Everyone,
Somehow I ended up straying way off my normal path, and found myself researching some high yield, REIT/Mortgage backed securities issues today, and wanted to tap the collective "knowledge base" here.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with issues such as these.

Ticker RAS
Price 10.75
P/E 5.6
Div Yld 19%
Book Value 13.8

Ticker NLY
Price 8.75
P/E 6.8
Div Yld 16%
Book Value 8.95

Both have recently gone ex-div, and hence dropped a little. Both pay out 95% of earnings as dividend.

Can anyone shed any light on what seems to be a decent place to park a few spare $$, and perhaps reinvest the dividends? How much risk are we looking at here? How does that risk stack up against some of the net stocks trading at 100X revenues?

Inquiring minds wanna know!
