You are absolutely right -- and there are two dimensions to this aspect.

First, there is the interpretive element -- as is the case where one is having to read chart patterns, etc

Second, there is the ability to follow a system where there is no room for interpretation as is the case with a mechanical system.

In the former case, one can understand why this might occur -- in the latter case it boils down to discipline. Like I said to you privately, I think that I have a half way decent system for day trading now -- largely mechanical. I find it difficult to follow it without exception -- and find myself second-guessing it once in a while and more often trying to get optimal entry and in the process missing the trade as happened yesterday on one of the trades -- and it would have been a doozy. BTW, I also find it difficult to post day trades for the contest when I am pressed for time trying to do the real thing.

Re the making a million dollar a year thing -- I assume that you are not being Clintonesque when you say that -- as someone else said to me about your comment, may be you are not making a million -- just making a couple of million???
