Merill Lynch analyst who was a bear for quite sometime is advising clients to buy here. Also CNBC has had comments indicating that the market is holding up reasonably well given what was expected. I understand that in the first 6 days of Oct. mutual fund inflows already exceeded all of Sept. as well as Aug. If this continues for the balance of the month we could have a strong late Oct. to early Nov. rally. However, in the short term your strategy is with merit.I think keeping an eye on volume today is very important. I think much of the bad news has already been reflected in the equity markets. Perhaps smart $ is taking advantage of weak hands. We will see but I can understand where you are coming from and you may have the best approach.
