I am suprised that given the explosive development of laser cosmetics, Candela is still so undervalued, $44 millions compared with the market cap of over $1 billions for Thermalase (TLZ). Check it out! Wade Candela To Open The World's First SPA And Cosmetic Laser Center WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 1996--Candela Skin Care Center Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Candela Corp. (CLZR) announced today that it has entered into a long-term lease in Scottsdale, Ariz., where it will open the world's first fully integrated spa and cosmetic laser center. Candela Skin Care Center's strategy is to target those upper income individuals seeking the best in health and beauty. The Scottsdale Center will offer the highest level of personal care services, combined with the latest in laser cosmetic technology in an upscale setting. The company believes that this is a substantial market, and that the demand for these services will continue to increase. Richard J. Olsen, president and CEO of Candela Skin Care Centers Inc., stated, "Our entry into the spa and cosmetic laser markets in this integrated style will provide us with a substantial advantage over all potential competitors. The Scottsdale Center will be the prototype for future centers that are being planned throughout the United States and abroad." The 7,555 square foot free-standing facility is located in the heart of Scottsdale's most exclusive area. The center will house five of the most advanced lasers to treat wrinkles, facial spider veins, scars, pigmented lesions, leg veins and other cosmetic problems.
