Hi Jack, All & all we are a smart group. That ability to test and check our back bone is what moves us along. Like fine tuning one of Tom's cars, there is always the potential of one more rpm, one more lap, one more finish and the trophy. I really think the issue is preserving & maximizing our capital don't you.

The following I pirated from the Nov. Issue of Worth... Just some excerpts.

NEED to KNOW By JIM JUBAK page 33

THIS YEAR'S JANUARY EFFECT SHOULD BE MEMORABLE.

But the bigger news is that when January does arrive it won't be just small investors who are toasting their good fortune.

The stock market is likely to get an even bigger and broader seasonal bounce than usual this year.

Most experts belive the phenomenon has something to do with the tax-related selling of losing stocks that begins in Oct. and with the end-of-the-year portfolio-dressing money managers employ as they get ready to defend their stock picks to clients. Well what was that rush of air that just blew up my skirt...

In fact, there hasn't been any January effect at all in the past six January's.

It's just that the thing came early, as it generally has in the 1990s.

This year, many Wall Street gurus are predicting a bigger-than-usual January effect. Is it common for Bulls to make the 1st cut of Hay in the spring?

Most stocks have taken a beating in 1999-although the performance of a relative handful of big winners has made the indexes look deceptively healthy. Re-read...

But they face more selling pressure. The selling will start as early as Oct. 31-and will stretch into Dec. as individual investors take a turn. Not very predictable, Ha Ha...

And Y2K? It's a complete wild card. IMHO it is a fallacy.

On January 1, happen what may, the market will be able to put all this behind it.

An investor who wanted to take full advantage of the end-of-the-year gain sold into the fall rally (a dependable phenomenon all decade) and then used that cash to build new positions by mid-Nov. Book mark...

But the basic strategy remains the same-sell into the fall rally (weak as is has been this year) and then re-deploy cash in November. And then trust that history will repeat itself. Only a fool would trust history in the stock market, better to be on the cutting edge of technology IMHO...

OT - As for multiple posts, I like the idea. We will get to 9000 about the same time as the DOW does <ggg>.

RH - the time you spent on your web site to welcome Triggerman will remain in the Hall of Flame. Funny...

Bernie - I see your back to coaching the Superbowl Team again, I hear you as in the past. Just want to kiss a little before I weld the ring to my finger for eternity.

Jack & D1 - Just came off of one of those mental highs and realized that my watch lists are dictated by the closing price as of Friday. Your on it... My goal is to play the watch list like I would in real time. So can we simulate GTC's and What If's and have real time notification that it was triggered? I figured I could build a spread sheet, but how would I know the High/Low without watching the ticker?

Tom - Field question on Newport. Duh, everytime I make a mistake it won't go away. Eve's Bud account is now a Strewie, all I did was reverse one entry. I started a fresh account today. Believe me Newport is as fine a software you will ever use, I just spilt Lemon Aid on my floppy <ggg>.

Bob Norman - My email does not work!!!. Gezz you guys never quit with the bashing... RedNecks don't understand the tweaking's on the back of keyboards. Although it was great to hear from one that has been such a big part of a tremor that was eventually felt by Socal. A few months back you damn near sank Tiawain.

Steve - what can I say to a ..;%4!!, I had a great time in LA. Once again I have let the little Ocean boogers give me pain. Yes I caught the smallest fish, and somehow I have two poison darts in my right thumb. So as of now I can't work my mouse or scratch my ass. Did all this with a fish hook between my teeth.

Glad to be back.

Keith

PS - JZGalt this Bud's for you.
