TP's are drawn off the pitchforks as explained by GZ in earlier posts.
They are "windows of opportunity for change."
They can become tops or bottoms, but generally bring about a change in direction of trend going into that time period.

They are difficult to trade without practice because you don't absolutely know which direction the move will travel or the distance. Sometimes it is a pivot, other times a pause and/or continuation of the established trend.

But remember they represent both a point in Time and Price. Time Projections are a part of the Cycle Life of the pitchfork and require watching the results of their activity carefully.
