That's a bunch of BS - nobody in their right mind would buy this stock expecting something out of Lucent. I sometimes (Ha!) wonder about who gets these stories published so quickly and so suggestively worded on stocks nobody should even care about. The outcome was indeed a good one though if you understand it. This never went to trial, the Judge just handed down a judgement. While the original version of Lucent's "Virtual Phone" was not found to be infringing the Judge did rule against Lucent's claim that the patents were invalid. The Judge found Data Race Inc.'s patents to be totally valid and full enforceable. Due to this judgement the company is now open to go after any and every company they feel are infringing without having to go through all the proof of their patents and this includes going after Lucent again for anything they try to do including any changes to the original "Virtual Phone" product.
