Flood of phone calls? First, pull this up in a separate browser window and follow the timetable: quote.yahoo.com

The suit against Lucent was announced way back in August 20, 1998
The stock pretty much went down after that and even briefly went down to $1.
Briefing supposedly "picks up on" this *rumor* May 14, 1999 and the stock had been in a steady downhill slide both before and continued on it after that date.

Sure wasn't much of a rumor, was it? No spike, not even a slow increase, nevertheless someone has deemed it as "one of those rumors that was flying everywhere: chat rooms, institutional trading floors, investment banking circles, it literally was a flood of phone calls." ???

Shoot, if I were paying for a briefing.com subscription I'd want to see useable news as opposed to resources being spent on April Fool's jokes.
