with all the nice charts you see, how do you decide which ones warrant an investment?

Good question Sam...

I look at many things in the technicals and fundamentals... I like to see the 5 day MA crossing the 13 day MA... I like to see positive MoneyFlow into the stock... I like a good story... I also like improving fundamentals... Some stocks are short term trades (based on momentum alone) while others also have fundamental substance to sustain the advance... Also, following volume surges to the upside or downside helps you gauge the degree of buying or selling interest... After all this, there is that intangible gut feeling based on all of my prior trading and investing experience... For each person this personalizes their decision process... Lastly, keep a diary of what you were thinking when selecting the stock... Then make entries of what you were thinking while holding the stock... Then make entries of what you were thinking when you decide to sell or add to your position... A review of several trades will give you a picture of your successful and unsuccessful thought patterns... Try to use the successful thought patterns in your next trades... : >
