I would like everybody's opinion on this who day trade's future contracts. In my case, that would be the SPOO. This relates to a practice by an online broker that is apparently popular. If this is the wrong topic for a small discussion on a futures broker, please advise.

What would you think of an online trading firm that does not provide 800 number access to their trading desk and also adds a surcharge of $30 on top of normal commissions for executing trades through the telephone for any reason at all. This includes their system being down. Furthermore, and more importantly to me, today when their system was down for over a half an hour, they did NOT permit any offsetting orders to be made by telephone to their trading desk, even though this backup service is stated to be supported for such contingencies in their contract. Have you found this type of experience to be not uncommon and even tolerable in your day trading experience?

By the way, what online trading firm do you and others here for the online trading?

Thank you!

Bob Graham

PS: There is the "Daytrading" thread that I posted this to also. But on second thought, I thought this thread will provide me with responses more applicable to my needs as a futures trader.
