Some threads about IDC:

Topic: assertion, widely believed on IDC thread, that Qualcomm's patents are for narrowband, and that IDC's royalty stream for TDMA systems is comparable to Qualcomm's - both incorrect - follow the following post forward:

Topic: assertion, widely believed on IDC thread, that IDC's patents are as good as Qualcomm's patents (although I have asked many times for a list of these great patents, I always get pointed to patents by knowledgable IDC folk which are not even in the same league). The following is the latest example - follow the following post forward:

Having watched all of the commentary on Qualcomm's patents by supposedly knowledgable people over the last several years it should come as no surprise that very very few people understand patents and what makes a good one. Thus, since on the surface IDC appears to have the same story as Qualcomm, it should be no surprise that it follows Qualcomm up. I am happy for the shareholders like Lurgio or Smith (although if there are ever leaps on IDC and it hits 75 or higher and settles down then I'll be buying some long term puts).
