Dear Bob Norman:

I have the older, DOS version 2.1 of Newport which seemed to work just fine until Y2K. On 2 Jan 2000, when I tried to update the portfolio, Newport indicated that I could not do so until 12/26/99. I then changed the date in DOS, entered my date, and returned DOS to the correct date. This morning, as I tried to enter data, Newport said that I could not update until the week of 01/02/00. Every attempt to change the date in DOS or in Control Panel was to no avail.

The only way to update is to update each individual item through VIEW and then TRADE STOCK. Can you suggest anything else I might do, or is it time to get a Windows Newport Program.

I've been around here quite a while. Thanks
