This market makes me queasy. I don't like rollercoasters! I went back into cash today, following the crowd that took profits. It was a nice 3+ percent gain from Friday through today, so how can one complain?

I took up an SI member's suggestion that I post my actual trades on my web site. That was a good idea! It made me realize how great the past 3 months have really been. I'm up close to 30%, a great year, really.

Still, this year looks troubling to me -- I see lots of volatility ahead, as the Fed raises rates to keep up with declining bonds, while earnings charge ahead due to projects and orders for software and hardware that were held back out of fear of Y2K problems.

I've taken my November-January Effect profits (26%!). Now I'm back to short term trading.
