Interesting post from icge on the way the IRS difference in treating long and short term capital gains [LTCG, STCG] affects the way US players are encouraged to invest rather than speculate ... or at least speculate with a longer outlook -g- Message 12573892 This goes a long way towards explaining higher values on US markets, imho.
