I guess my past brain section is taking over re MLPFS. Here is an interesting development I think from TECHWEB. A new public player for the Sector who it seems wants to be vertically integrated with assembly. It seems that Via would have to buy a midtier player to achieve this. What does the thread think?

Viasystems was formed in 1996 by the same investors and executives who built Berg Electronics into an interconnect power before it was sold to Framatome Connectors International in 1998. Viasystems fabricates printed-circuit boards (PCBs) and backplane assemblies at facilities around the world.

While the company has focused on PCBs, it has recently moved into the mainstream contract electronics manufacturing business, and company insiders have indicated that Viasystems plans to establish a major presence in that arena.

Although the company has been expanding, its growth has slowed somewhat in the last two years, and it has been losing money. For the nine-month period ended Sept. 30, Viasystems reported a net loss of $93.3 million on revenue of $790.5 million, compared with a net loss of $60.6 million on $767.3 million in revenue for the same period in 1998.
