Morning Will,

Re: cyber vision
From your link:
Your support and encouragement are invaluable and make our research efforts possible

I'm willing to give all the encouragement they desire <gg>. I'm sure the hard part is the interface. The other technology is available. If they can pull off a reasonable interface, all sorts of things will be possible. Very exciting!!

Re: Pioneer's MOT display

You would think that Pioneer could afford to get a decent technically-minded translator for their patents <g>. E.g. - an apparatus for measuring surface roughness, AFM, is a "Alternating Force Magnetometer". Could be, I suppose, but I'd bet on "Atomic Force Microscope" <g>.

Anyway, it looks like the display is an OLED. I would guess that they call it The new Organic EL(TM) color display, because that's what they (could/did) trademark. That means that my linking PANL's(?) patent 6013982 was in error. It's a different animal. HOWEVER, patent 6013982 is very interesting in that it fits into my hope of a home-fabricated actively-lit picture/art disposible market!! I should email PANL to see what their plans are. I'd love to test the stuff.

And speaking of MOT, I must've been asleep at the wheel, re:

On January 5, 2000, Motorola completed the acquisition of General Instrument Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of integrated and interactive broadband access solutions.

Hmmm.....<edit> I knew I shoulda hung onto my SFA....
