OT -- We just have to find a way to play blackjack sometime. May be there is a way to do it online, though just like investing, putting your money on the line makes all the difference. I remember a few years ago there was huge (millions?) BJ game between a computer and a top player. And the rule was that the game would end when one side had all the money. True enough, slowly but surely the computer won most of the time. Until the human player put everything (~700k?) on the line and won.

Now on to your point. Let's say we mix 50 red chips with 50 black ones. If I pull out 20 red chips in a row, what are the odds that the next chip is black? Well, if we are remixing the chips between each draw, then those odds are 5:7, which would correspond to your contention. On the other hand, if they are not remixed between each draw, then you also need to consider that what are the odds that despite your best shuffle, 21 red chips were chunked together...Then again, perhaps I'm just lucky in BJ and there is nothing to my theory...I can live with that; there are worse things in life than being lucky at the table.

BTW, if you want to see me lose, watch me play poker. My typical money shuffling scheme is to win it at blackjack, lose it in poker, and repeat the cycle.

P.S major short covering is in motion for VISX, but I don't think a V recovery is in order.
