TT,

I'm well. I was cleaning out my topic/people bookmarks today and saw your post so I just stopped by to say hello. I've followed the various Gorilla threads off and on for a while. Saw your post about risk on the G&K thread and almost responded, but I didn't want to waste time arguing with folks who are putting everything into QCOM. Some of them may get hurt pretty bad, especially if the Q fills that pesky downside gap at 60 and they get panicked out of their shares.

What really scares me is that some retired people are investing big money in stocks like QCOM. Where's the margin of safety if things go wrong?

One of the WIND threadsters had everything in WIND before its colossal tumble last year, and we haven't heard much from her since. I hope she's OK. With my more conservative approach and fundamental belief in the stock I simply averaged down and will probably cut back some when (hopefully) it gets to 60.

One indirect way to hedge your risk in high beta stocks is with a larger component of safe secure investments like bonds and bills, together with a rule about taking some profits if the winners outperform and exceed a certain percentage of the portfolio. Seems basic to me, but BWDIK?

Good luck to you guys with your futures trading this coming week. I stay away from that stuff!
