Big Picture achieves record eMerchant pro orders

Big Picture Technologies Inc BPI
Shares issued 16,294,250 Feb 2 close $3.60
Thu 3 Feb 2000 News Release
Mr. Michael Anthony reports
During the past four weeks, orders for eMerchant pro exceeded 4,000 units.
Since the product's formal market launch in late November, and the launch
of SmartSite 3.0 in December, orders for both products total nearly 7,500
units.
"By any yardstick, eMerchant pro has taken an early and sustainable lead,
right out of the gate!" said Michael Anthony, Big Picture president and
chief executive officer. "One of the largest U.S. retail chains is
reporting sell-through of more than 200 units per week, while one of the
dominant dot com on-line resellers ranks eMerchant pro among the top 10
selling software titles -- and this is prior to any significant promotion.
The launch of national U.S. campaigns next week should yield even more
interesting results."
Mr. Anthony added that: "The early market acceptance of eMerchant pro bodes
especially well for the company's subscription services division -- which
was recently formed through the amalgamation of the hosting business unit
from Morgan Media with the on-line applications unit from Noteable!. Each
eMerchant pro user represents a potential renewal of hosting services -- at
$150 (U.S.) for six months or $275 (U.S.) for 12 months after the initial
three months hosting expires. A large eMerchant pro user base represents
significant downstream revenue opportunities for this division even without
factoring in the additional bump expected with the introduction of eClerk
later this quarter and the add-on and cross-sell opportunities from
recently acquired on-line applications."
eMerchant pro offers everything a small or home office merchant would need
to develop and deliver a truly interactive, e-commerce Web site in a matter
of hours. The product comes complete with templates to create powerful,
customized Web sites, automatic registration of domain names, back-end
facilities for secure credit card processing, and full shopping cart
functionality. In addition, the product is offered with three months free
hosting services and the industry's first truly interactive on-line sales
facility.
eMerchant pro is currently in distribution only in the United States.
"However," Mr. Anthony noted, "we expect to expand market coverage in
Canada and abroad in the very near term." In the interim, Canadian
customers can order the product from any of the company's U.S. resellers,
including: Amazon.com; Beyond.com; Buy.com; CompUSA; Computers 4 Sure;
Dell/Gigabuys; Fry's Electronics; PC Mall; SoftChoice; SoftMart; Solutions
4 Sure; Staples.
Telephone numbers and one-click on-line links to resellers are provided on
the partners page of the company's Web site at bigpic.com.
