CEM upgrades from Merrill this a.m., from briefing.com ...

08:23 ET Sanmina Corp (SANM) 117 9/16: Merrill Lynch initiates with NT/LT BUY, $160 price target, and earnings ests of $2.50-2.70 for 2000; $3.25-3.55 for 2001; SANM generates more than 70% of its revenue from the communications market and enjoys strong relationships with CSCO , LU, NT, ALA, TLAB among others

08:49 ET Flextronics (FLEX) 68 1/2: Merrill Lynch raises price target to $85 based on the P/E of Merrill's OEM Tech Barometer or 63x their C2000 EPS estimate of $1.35; rates stock NT/LT BUY.

Should be good for the whole sector, particularly some of the relatively cheaper stocks like SCI, ACTM, PLXS I would think ... not to mention FLEX and SANM! Also SLR speaks at a conference this week and splits its stock ... could see a bounce.
