>>NINE FAMOUS IRISHMEN<<

Hi Karen - sorry to rain on your (St Patricks) parade, but I think this may be another urban myth.... I can't speak for all your characters, but I do know that "In 1874, word reached the astounded Queen Victoria that the Sir Charles Duffy who had been elected Prime Minister of Australia" cannot possibly be true, Australia's first Prime Minister was Edmund Barton, and he wasn't elected until 1901. For the same reason, Australia did not have an Attorney General until after Federation in 1901.

Be that as it may, Pat and Mick were in the desert, inspecting the pipeline. It was 120 in the shade, and not an oasis in sight.

Pat says to Mick "Do you know what day it is?
"Sure, and its Thursday"
"No no, I mean, what day is it?"
"Sure, you're right, it's Saturday."
"No no, I mean, what day is it?
"It's Saturday. Sure, so"
"No, Mick, I'm thinking it's Fair day. Ballyorchy Fair. They'll all be there, all our friends, dancin' an' drinkin'"

Mick thought about it for a minute.

"Sure, and what a great day they're havin for it, and all."
