JDN, the truth is that WCOM is the only big telecom company that has even come close to acting like a new era telecom company. It's is the best-positioned of all of the big telcos, but competition will hurt to some extent.

Here's how I see it: The big telcos will buy the GBLXs, Qwests, Level 3s, and all of the CLECs in due time. In the end, the big telcos will still be around (and they'll control the market). WCOM is simply the best-positioned and most modern.
