Comments/Conclusions/Suggestions

1. Thread bloat is now reaching dangerous proportions. That term should be listed in FAQ v.1.10, with the definition "low signal-to-noise ratio, caused by a surfeit of mindless and/or irrelevant babble; something to be avoided."

2. Just because certain seniors are addicted to blah-blah-blah is no reason to accept it; given their memories, they could simply reread the last few dozen posts several times to achieve the same effect.

3. Everybody should re/read the New Year's Resolutions post: Message 12440511

4. Gilder's aforementioned letter (accompanying this month's newsletter) has some words of wisdom for all, the conveyance of which will almost certainly not get me in any trouble: "Remember when we were the only ones who had ever heard of JDS Uniphase or Qualcomm? As the Telecosm paradigm succeeds, the companies we once considered our private club become world famous. So, as more and more investors come to play in a space we once considered our own, how do we maintain our edge as investors? Part of the answer is simple: Stay the course, which is what I do with my own portfolio. (I can't remember the last time I sold a Telecosm stock.) ... Our best Telecosm companies have a long way to go."

5. My new computer is much better than unclewest's (650>450), and y'all should run out immediately and get Microsoft Intellimouse Explorers, which are incredibly cool.
