Hi Jack, Yes, you can move an AIM history from one directory to another. First both should be up to date. Next you need to use Windows Explorer to go into your Newport directory and copy the *.HST file and the same stock's *.NPD file to the other sub directory where you have your Newport files.

That was the easy part! Next you want to go back to your main Newport directory and look for Stock.NPT.
THIS FILE CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT STUFF, SO MAKE A COPY OF IT OR BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE TAMPERING!
Next, open Stock.NPT and look for the stock in question. Highlight and copy that specific line, no more and no less.

Next, open the Stock.NPT file in the "receiving" sub-directory and look for the proper alphabetical place to add the line copied from the first directory. Click on the the spot and use EDIT and PASTE to place it there. You will need to hit the RETURN or ENTER key to move the next line down. You don't want any extra spaces or lines, as this is a coma delimited file and sensitive like the one from which you've just taken info.

When complete, SAFE this edited Stock.NPT file.

If everything went well, this stock should now appear in the alternate directory. You can then go to the regular Newport program and remove the stock using the Maintenance window and the Delete A Stock option.

Hope this helps,
Tom
PS: this same procedure can be used to build a stock history in one directory and then move it into another.
