Mike -- Interesting post, but I think we are not talking apples and oranges re: "laws of economics." I was using that term with respect to applying a multiple to a stock's earnings vis a vis a risk free rate of return. I think that is a little different from the way you were using it. On your old economy/new economy example, would you not agree that it may be harder to build a moat around a business that sells information only? If you sell it to me, what's to keep me from turning around and selling it to someone else or even giving it away? That may imply a lower valuation for certain new economy businesses, not higher. I'm not trying to be negative, only balanced. Regards, JR
