Anyone with thoughts on the HDC and SANM merger?. HDC has 52% of their business with ECMs such as CLS and SLR. SLR for example is 18% of business. SANM says they need more high end PCB capacity but if they get it from HDC, what happens to the other ECMs needs and where do they get their products as the high end high layer communications boards are limited as to companies. HDC was already at a high capacity utilization so don't see how they can supply everyone including now SANM increasing needs and would the other ECMs want to buy their boards from a competitor ECM which SANM clearly is now with 79% comm. And both companies are now competing and doing lots of business with Nortel for example especially with SLRs acquistion of Nortel OEM plants. I see collisions occuring in supply of boards and customers.
