Just for the record:

1. The USS Missouri is a battleship, not an aircraft carrier. Big difference.

2. The USS Missouri was last at sea in 1990-1991 during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

3. The USS Missouri was decommissioned in 1992.

4. The USS Missouri has been stricken from the Navy rolls and is awaiting disposition. It will probably be made a floating museum.

I first read this story in a 1983 or 1984 issue of Proceedings, the magazine of the US Naval Institute, and it gets weirder with every telling. This is the first mention I've seen of Canadian involvement.

Call me picky; I hope you research your stocks better than these alleged "true" stories.
