Tom, and all others attending and those who wanted to attend, I checked the video tapes I made of the event and they suffer from a few problems.

1. Lighting - like the photos, the video suffers from the brightness of the projector and the relative low level lights in the room. Speakers faces are in deep shadow most of the time.

2. Sound - Since the camera was located so far from the speaker's podium, voices are faint, and sound like they are in a large echoing hall (well we were sort of).

3. Technique - I wanted to listen to and absorb the information that the speakers were giving us, so I did not spend much time zooming, panning, and scanning. It would be a much more visually interesting tape if we could have
moved the camera around more.

4. Presentations - The presentations with a white background show up much better on the video.

I can work on some of these issues, i.e. close miking and better taping technique. However, lighting is a compromise that we will ALL need to agree upon next time.
