Hi Jim, some thoughts on the big picture.

Everyone has been focused pretty much on what the FED was going to do to rates, but maybe more important is the shrinking money supply <M-2> which was hugely bloated for the Y2k b/s. This is something that has a very long lead time. Perhaps we are seeing some of this effect in the markets now?? In clunkers like CA?

The numbers out Friday will set the mood for the next week or so.

Most stocks seem to be stuck, capped by eager sellers on any kind of rally. This is not good for higher prices, when no one wants to hold anymore.
But then it is the dog days, or maybe (daze) of summer...
