Who's right? Or is S-SB somewhat premature?

Well, I'm an ex-programmer so WTFDIK.

TA wise we need to rally into earnings big time. If we don't - I'm out. If we rally and it looks weak and fails by Jan. - I'm out. There just seems to be way too much congestion in the charts. If we were at the end of a cycle I think we would see more of a waterfall chart. AMAT would be 50 now.

There is also not enough "singing" IMO. I want to hear more analyst and CEO's saying how it's different this time. I want to hear how the boom-bust of the industry is over because of the demand from the Internet. Besides the newbie investors, I really haven't heard much of this chant. There seems to be way too many people predicting the end of the cycle in 2001. Which tells me we are either there now or have another good 2-3 years.

I would also like to hear how this is a must sector for "investing in the Internet". I'd like to see the Internut mania filter to the last leg.

This cycle also needs to complete all the stages of the boom. Stuff like real shortages that causes double bookings. When I see articles and people denying double bookings, then you will know it's occurring. I want to hear how shortages are a real problem. How the backlog of lithography tools is a problem for the industry to expand.

Also, the investment whores of Goldman and co. need to pump out some IPO's. They usually do this when the getting is good in the late stages. I've only seen one IPO. I think the wafer makers also need to participate in the boom. This cycle has to be at least as long as the 92-95 boom (following Whittington on this one).

And most of all, I want to hear "The Fat Lady Singing". Some outragish call by an analyst like "AMAT should earn $30 a share in 2003".
