I posted as far back as April 1 that I was concerned a top may be slowly forming. Message 13328148
As soon as the news came out (May 3) of Scott Kulicke and other insiders selling, I sold immediately. True, I didn't post my Schwab transaction on this thread. However, a reasonable person would note my concern as far back as April 1, and would take my word that I sold when Mr. Kulicke's large insider sell was publicly announced. My posts since then certainly do not suggest that I am still long on KLIC (I am not short either). Thus, I do not think it requires a large leap of faith to believe that I have sold my KLIC long ago.
As for buying SDLI, that's very easily documented. Here is my post on May 26 urging everyone to buy SDLI. Message 13786075
And here is the stock price of SDLI on May 26: chart.yahoo.com
You can't get clearer documentation than that!
Anyone who followed up on my suggestion 6 weeks ago could have picked up SDLI in the $160s to $190s. It's trading at $360 now. JDSU (trading at $111) is buying out SDLI at 3.8 shares of JDSU to 1 of SDLI, so SDLI is actually worth $422 based on current JDSU prices. Not too shabby. Still time to get in. Hope others followed along with me. **************** As to the self congratulatory tone of my posts: It is simply human nature coming out. If you take the time to browse through my early posts, you will see my tone is low key, even handed, and open minded. Look how pleasant and open minded my April 1 post linked above is, for example.
Since then, I have been excoriated on this thread and called every name in the book. Your last post is the most recent example, where you accused me of not documenting anything. Obviously, there was no basis for that accusation, as I have shown above.
Thus, you will have to excuse me if I rub it in a bit, which I admit I am doing in response to all the criticism hurled at me. It is probably true "rubbing it in" undermines the credibility of my viewpoints to some degree. ************* Finally, for all those who tend to discount my viewpoints, you can pull up my past posts on "peoplemarks" (there are not many posts) and see that I am used to being the lone gadfly on threads.
Here is a post in November 1999 where I warn not to short HNCS. I was dismissed on the thread Message 11936533

Finally, I was roasted for being negative on a biotech stock, symbol LDAKA. That stock is now gone. Here is my last post on that stock: Message 7016525
The only other stock I have posted substantially on is CGRM, only because a family member used to work there.
Again, a little bit of "I told you so" on my part, but so far my track record has been pretty good. It might not be a bad idea to consider what I have said so far.
And again, I could be completely wrong. I have said over and over that I have no insights into the semi industry. |
