An exciting week to come? My indicators are all lined up in favor of the NYSE Index finally breaking through the 665 blockade that has been its ceiling for the past two years. After about a dozen failed attempts, it won't be a shock to me if some bad news sends the market down once again -- but the end-of-week rally was pretty impressive, with pretty good volume, and when the broad market moved ahead Friday afternoon I jumped back in. Also -- I've completed my preliminary individual stock evaluation pages on my web site. This is something I've been thinking about and working on for quite a while. I now have statistics that I don't think you can find anywhere else, updated weekly. I have lots of ideas on more that could be added -- but for now I have statistics and ratings of the 1500 S&P stocks (Large Cap 500, MidCap 400, SmallCap 600), based on some simple screening models. The goal is to identify stocks that have been rising on increasing volume. These stocks should be good candidates for strong gains over the next few months (provided that interest in them continues to build -- of course, "past performance is no guarantee...").
