That is an interesting point and one I overlooked. So are fabless chip-maker revenues included in industry sales figures? If they are, then Dataquest is double-counting semiconductor revenues which would make the data almost meaningless. If you have any contacts at Dataquest, could you find out how the fabless/foundry revenue is accounted for? It would seem the only way to do an apples to apples accounting of this revenue would be to only count the revenues of chip manufaturers to buyers of the chips(fabless companies being accounted for as buyers).
