Lotsa a great info here on this board, for which thanks to all.

I can set at once that my move from selective buy-and-hold to AIM requires that 1/ I keep transaction costs as low as possible and 2/ I manage my tax position and record keeping closely.

The former suggests an internet broker, while the latter implies use of some basic financial software. I'd be grateful for some recommendations and experiences with internet brokers, what to look for and what to avoid.

I once used an early version of Quicken and will likely upgrade to the latest now. Any comments?
