There are lots of companies, that, if their plans don't turn out, they could be on the road to delisting. WCOM isn't one of them. There is a higher chance of a CSCO delisting than a WCOM delisting. Their cash flow, and relatively low debt load, means they always have options.
This deal is much smaller than the FON deal, and should have less of an impact on the stock price.
It is not random deal-making, just to do something. They have given clear signals that the back-up post-FON plan is to become a provider of high-margin services to business. And today's acquisition clearly advances that plan.
We're going to see, in the next few days, if the old low (32 and change) can hold. And I'll be buying. |
