Solectron (NYSE: SLR chart, msgs) reports after the market closes today. The Street expects SLR to report fiscal Q4
earnings of $0.26 vs. $0.17 last year. SLR is the largest Electronic Contract Manufacturer (ECM) in the Electronics
Manufacturing Sector (EMS).

SLR and Jabil Circuit-which reports its Q4 results on September 19, performance will set the tone for the entire EMS
stocks and possibly the tech-stocks in general until the next reporting season which starts in October. SLR growth is
based on the communication industry need for components and accounts for the majority of SLR's earnings. Any hiccup
or unfavorable numbers could send the entire EMS spiralling downward. Increased business from current clients, new
client additions and a positive outlook from SLR management could send the EMS stocks higher.
