Something seemed a bit odd, however, so I took that trouble to pull up previous Anandtech benchmarks on the i820 from here: anandtech.com and here: anandtech.com I also threw in some benchmarks from Tom Pabst, that pro-DDR guy, on the i820 and i840. tomshardware.com All tests are on 1GHz platforms. Some interesting results (see key below). Benchmark/DDR 1600/PC800/Ai820/TPi820/TPi840 CC: 36.2 / 27.3 / 33.7 S2K: 195 / 179 / 191 / 185 /195 Q3A: 122.1 / 114.4 / 145.6* / 147 /149 UT: 79.5 / 71.6 / 72.8* / / EXP: 107.9 / 93.7 / 101.9 / 97.5 /101.8 IME: 129 / 73 /NA/NA/NA INS: 123 / 111 /NA/NA/NA IAP: 91 / 64 /NA/NA/NA IVS: 69 / 107 /NA/NA/NA I-Stream: Mem BW: 487 / 352 /NA/NA/NA FPU: 596 / 468 /NA/NA/NA Very INTERESTING! Looks like Anand took one for the AMD team! Notice that Anand had to use a bunch of non-standard benchmarks because the one's that he and Tommy usually use--like SpecPerf 3D series, WOULD NOT RUN on the DDR system. ************************************* Key: CC=Intel Content Creation S2K=Sysmark 2000 Q3A=Quake-3 Arean UT=Unreal Tournament EXP=Expendable IMC=Intel media encoder INS=Intel Naturally spkg IAP=Intel Adobe prem IVS=Intel Video studio *Anand's DDR tests use a 3DFX Voodoo-5 video card. Other benchmarks use Nvidia GTS-2, except where noted.
