My grandfather did a similar thing to my mother when she was 17. He asked her date if he would like to have a drink as he was having one. The gent agreed and after finishing his first my grandfather said he could go. Her date asked if she was ready and he replied NO, but are not going out with my daughter after you've been drinking.
