Michael Gaudet, The fact that Eastman Kodak...

...is having a rough go with the transition to digital will likely have little impact on SanDisk during Q4. First, Kodak announced 3 new digital cameras aimed at the consumer market and will need CompactFlash for bundling. Even if they have poor holiday sales the bundled cards are already purchased and packaged.

If Kodak decreases subsequent orders, then demand for bundled cards may fall. However, after-market sales of CompactFlash will still be robust.

I see 8 (and even 16 MB) private label (bundled) CompactFlash cards as being of diminishing interest to SanDisk. How would they make an 8 MB card CF with the current flash density they are producing. I can't imagine that the "chop-chop" technique (to slice and dice a 256 Mbit chip into four 64 Mbit chips) plus the additional cost of the controller and the card assembly is cost-effective. This is only my impression.
