My guess is the FED is jerking around in the markets, increasing liquidity this very minute, to keep the house of cards from falling in on itself, so that is one thing short index players like me need to be thinking about.

Willaim:

We could have a dichotomous FED situation... Rising oil prices with a rate cut... While oil and water don't mix, rising international tensions could threaten market stability which is already teetering... As such, I wouldn't be surprised if the FED cuts rates if this Mid East drama escalates... Also, the Home Depot warnings goes right to the heart of consumer and construction spending... Need any more evidence of a weakening economy Alan? : >
