My 2 bits...

Being the wonderous gooroo myself, I've decided to contribute my thoughts... :P

overrated nature of bluetooth.

marconi is a gem.

nok you canadian? i am :).

My several month old theory of LUcent getting sacrificed for NT and CSCO continues to strive. Analyst telecom spending is truly ANAL.

Alan Luber who puts out a great email alert on networkers called
"Broadband News" just sent out an interesting note from the Corning
(GLW) conference call. Luber asked whether they were worried about the
slowdown in cap equipment spending by telcos.

The answer: "Indeed, many of our customers are announcing they are
going to spend less capital next year. We are not concerned about this
for two reasons. First, this is the time of the year that carriers say
they are planning to spend less and they usually end up spending more.
More importantly, there is a big shift going on in where they put
there spending. Even if overall spending drops, spending in the
optical area will grow. Fiber is 4% of the cost of putting the next
generation network in and it provides enormous leverage for the
telecoms. The shift from optical away from SONET and swtiching
networks provides tremendous cost advantages. You can naturally drop
your spending and pick up tremendous advantages through optical
networking. You must invest in the new technology or die."

big plethora of earnings this week. tons of my favourites too. now that the street has frontloaded all this negativity, things may actually make sense.. you can buy news now that it's actually new news.

some other random thoughts... once u get to a certain trading capacity, you no longer really need to "services" or whatever of things like pristine market gems..etc...etc.. you should be able to do it yourself, this is much like playing golf. you go for a training camp, or maybe a season of lessons with a "pro". Or in some cases you get your best friend's boss to teach you or something. But eventually, you do want to tour the courses yourself, but more importantly, with a few of your buddies. That's what is always best. Your buddies...

nok, you will find that with an open forum, albeit moderated, you'll always be exposed to far too many externals... Ideally, what you would want to do is maybe even go private and setup your own chatspace, invite only, with maybe 10-20 of your trading buddies... all this being free ofc...

If you're trying to do that on here.... well the mechanics of SI make it a little harder... good luck with all the gooroo policing ;)
