TIMELY <THREAD ALERTS> WORKS AS A TEAM TO FIND STOCKS ON THE MOVE. BY CHOOSING TO SHARE OUR FINDINGS, WE BELIEVE THAT MORE TRADERS CAN BENEFIT FROM THESE VOLATILE MARKETS.

By combining technical analysis, news we catch early, and real-time quotes, we hope to profit from some straight momentum plays..just one component of the game of trading. Here's how it works:

Many individuals have favourite stocks that they watch closely every day and therefore become familiar with their general trading pattern. This can be an unrealized asset, until we decide to share our knowledge with our fellow traders and get the same in return.

Often, stocks we follow languish for days or weeks at a time and then suddenly take off. This thread "MOVING NOW! (With Timely ThreadAlerts)"believes that TA, when combined with a trader's personal insights (and eyes) can put us in the right place at just the right time. "MOVING NOW!" provides a dedicated forum for taking advantage of stock movements as they happen by following the TAPE.

To those traders not familiar with the risks associated with fast-moving stocks, please remember that momentum trading requires lots of TLC (tender love care and constant monitoring). Leaders have to lead, but followers don't have to follow, so it pays to always exercise caution when reading the Calls posted on our thread.Preservation of capital has got to remain indelibly planted in everyone's mind..and profits should be taken sooner than later.

We believe it takes more than "liking/despising" or "having a gut feel "for a stock to enter a trade. We know it takes discipline and much patience to wait for the right moment.
This thread is our place to hang out with friends and to post timely alerts to other traders when a stock we follow starts to make a move or suddenly reverses direction.

A FEW POINTS TO CONSIDER BEFORE MAKING A CALL:

We're not attempting to "make a market" here, we're simply responding to market action already in progress. Long or short.

Let's post our best momentum calls first, saving posts about our other trading activities until after the market closes.

How we define the word ALERT:

<ALERT> doesn't mean a stock should move because of "this news" or "could" move if we break 35. "MOVING NOW! says it best!

Calls can be very brief:

********************************************

EACH OF US TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR DECIDING WHETHER TO FOLLOW A CALL OR NOT. (JUST BECAUSE WE'RE PERUSING THE MENU DOESN'T MEAN WE HAVE TO EAT OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO LET OUR TRADING SUCCESSES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. BY DOING SO, WE'LL INVITE A STEADY INPUT OF TIMELY CALLS TO OUR "MOVING NOW!" THREAD.

IF WE CHOOSE TO EXIT A TRADE SIMPLY TO TAKE PROFITS, WE SIMPLY MOVE ON TO THE NEXT TRADE...WITHOUT MENTION.
HOWEVER,IF WE EXIT A TRADE FOR A REASON OUR FELLOW TRADERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT, WE TELL THEM!

We share relevent links and/or charts too, but know it's not necessary to make a call, especially if our stock is a fast-mover.

This thread's main focus is to POST A CALL TO THE THREAD based strictly on what we see at the time. When (or if) we choose to act on a call is up to each INDIVIDUAL trader. (We are not sheep moving in unison with the intent of trying to move a stock!) When exactly to exit a trade is also a very personal decision. There are other threads on SI designed to give entry/exit point guidance but we are not one of them. How long each of us chooses to ride the momentum/upside/downside is a personal decision as well.

Because we have a real distaste for frontrunning, that's about the only promise we'd like from anyone posting on our thread. By the way, we're not shy about posting our MOVERS because we'll never shoot each other for making a call that suddenly takes a pause. With enough bullet wounds under our shirts, we won't enter a trade blindly either or before we're ready to, so pound away <ggg>. Besides, if a call doesn't work out today, maybe it will tomorrow, -- so please keep us updated outside of actual trading hours.

Everyone's help in keeping this thread focussed and relevant is appreciated. Are we simply another day-trading thread? Definitely not. Our personal watchlists begin with diligent TA which includes relative strength, money flow, momentum ratings and much more. As traders, we share a passion for trading and remain willing to do the necessary legwork. We've seen people die of boredom, but rarely from hard work

What's in it for us besides the chance to make good money? Well, for starters, when we do our job well, we'll undoubtedly sleep better at night ...few mo-mo stocks need to be held overnight...If our thread accomplishes what it's set out to do - and does it with conviction - we and our trading friends should be able to step up to the plate, take a swing and still have a life outside of trading. Now there's something to look forward to right there!

Just think, no more having to make time to pour over charts if we need a night out or want to spend more time with the kids...but let's all remember to contribute and contribute often. That's the only price of admission to this thread and a more balanced lifestyle!

Ideally, we'll keep our best movers on our personal radar at all times so that we can make a call when it hits
We're not talking "triggers" here ...we want movers. At the
same time, we'll resist the temptation to make too many trades in a day, choosing instead to run with the winners. When calls are timely, one or two trades is all we'll need to put a smile on our faces.

After market close, there'll be more time for general discussion of our trading day, market updates, breaking news, jokes..maybe even a sports update or two (did I really say that?)..let's have some fun too because by the end of the day we're going to need some comic relief!

This thread is a collaboration between independent traders who are individual members of Silicon Investor. We do not provide investing advice, stock picks or trading instruction. We may or may not have a position in the stocks we post, as they are posted as a courtesy to alert other traders to individual stock, sector or market moves that they might be able to benefit from trading on their own. We do not give buy or sell recommendations, all posts are for informational purposes only. All traders must do their due diligence and understand the risks of trading volatile markets.

Good trading to all..
