Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Comments On Unusual Market Activity
GLOUCESTER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2000--In response to unusual market activity this week and an unprecedented number of calls from interested investors, Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: VSEA - news) said that its guidance on business performance has not changed since its earnings release and conference call of July 26, 2000.

The company, as previously announced, will release its earnings after the market on Thursday, October 26, 2000 and conduct a conference call reviewing its fourth quarter fiscal 2000 and year-end results at 5 p.m. eastern time that day.
