I posted this yesterday after seeing several posts from Teri on SDLI and JDSU:

"It looks like Teri is short SDLI and JDSU. What else would be the reason for posting this kind of bad news on several SI threads all day long?"- WBR

If some one posts about the stock they just bought across several SI threads at the same time, they call him/her pumper, spamer, etc., right? What's wrong with the opposite?

I don't see my post as being any thing negative on Teri. Neither did I request her not to post any more negative news about SDLI or JDSU. Her posts are timely and always welcome by me. By reading Teri's messages on several threads in a short period of time, I felt that she might be short on these, and I stated my opinion as such. Sorry if I came across in an accusatory tone. :-(

This thread is for short term traders, long or short. By definition, a long term trader does not have to sell stock right away even if it is tanking, time is no factor. On the other hand, a Short has to buy to cover "real soon". Time is critical, so they do what ever they can to bring the stock down as much as they can as fast as they can. Is this statement correct? I am not a short, so I don't know.

It looks like a general perception that if some one is called a "long", he/she is good person, and if some one is called "short", he/she is a bad person. Short term trading can be either way, long or short.

One reason for posting my opinion also is for newbies who just purchased SDLI or JDSU for a loooong position (I mean really looong) not to panic and sell based on her posts only because she could potentially be a short. Seasoned traders do their dd anyway and don't trade based on SI posts alone.

Also, on another topic that came up this AM on monitoring SI threads: All the SI messages go through SI servers, right? What prevents SI from using a monitoring software of some kind to pick up the most talked about stocks and alerting MMs, brokerage houses etc. for a small fee?

Frankly, I think they monitor mine and Baldy's trading very closely and tank the ones we buy and move up the one's we just sold. <<VBG>>
