Tom;......OT.....this is a political, but non-partisan post.
I stated immediately after the election, that I hoped fervently that whoever, Bush or Gore, was behind by even one vote after the Florida count and recount was complete, that the loser would gracefully concede....we all know what is happening since.

I am afraid that much damage has already been done to the structure of our society, although one outcome will produce perhaps a more dangerous result.....I live in an area where there are strong militia sentiments...I do not even own a gun myself, perhaps that is foolish, but as I have told my wife, I do not want to take anyone's life, and will sacrifice my own unarmed if it comes to that.

There is a great anger building, which I am afraid, will manifest itself in militia actions, of which all that has gone before will seem mild......If Gore manages to find enough votes to be declared President, the genie will be out of the bottle...and I believe no one can forsee the consequences of that event...If Bush prevails, the militias will still grow stronger, because many see the post-election results as a wake-up call to the direction this government is heading.

I am not in sympathy with those who wish by violent means to change the government, I am merely stating my perspective of the juncture of history we are at.

If you are a person of faith....pray for this country, and for a resolution in a way in which the constitution will be rigidly upheld, and those principles of the founders will prevail.

Regards, Bud
