Sorry to read of your bad experience with Plymouth public facilities. Sounds like the last time they were cleaned was for Miles Standish's last visit. Too bad cities and towns can't get around the handicapped access legal rangling and get those automatic, self-cleaning toilets installed on a widespread basis. OTOH, yes Plymouth, MA is well worth the visit as part of a Boston trip, as is Old Sturbridge Village in Western MA. I'm not so sure I'd bother with Salem and its witch stuff, FWIW.
