It's not a variation at all.
The answer to your question is in Chapter 13 starting on page 177. Mr. L specifically answers the question of what to do when you purchase a stock that drops like a stone.
As a matter of fact if people would read Chapters 13 and 14 they would find the answers as to how handle most of the variations that are tried.
If most guys are like me, they can read faster than they can type. It doesn't take very long to read f47 pages.
