a couple of reallife examples for you VS... (1) IB/TWS quotes for globex/ES stopped deadcold right after the 2 circuit court rulings came out. did not try to enter an order when i saw that. (my other quote feeds were fine, just TWS stopped) (2) after the FSC ruling, entered a limit buy order at ES1H @ 1365, waited a few and no execution, quotes started going south, I cancelled. few seconds later they cancelled, nothing done. perhaps a mkt order would have worked, but I was surprised it didn't execute since I was above the ask at the time I put the order limit order in.
